Q. What do you mean Joint Venture ?
A. Just that, we are prepared to put our time and money into your website development. We want to get paid, but we will work with you to make sure the payment terms fit your business model.
Q. What kind of web site works best with this approach ?
A. There's really only one kind, a website that makes money.
Q. Do you accept all requests ?
A. No, we only work on web sites that will make a profit, we are a business too.
Q. What types of payment schedule do you do ?
A. The most common methods that work are: 1. A share of the profit from the website's sales during the first 18-24 months 2. A share of the profit from the website's early sales, plus a final one-off fee if the sales exceed a certain amount. 3. A fixed monthly payment over a set number of months. Part-ownership style approaches have proved to be very difficult to craft. Have another idea? Feel free to get creative, "Taylor" an approach that suits your business and sell us on the idea and we'll see if we can make it work at our end.
Q. Why do you do web site development this way ?
A. We can estimate how much profit a web site can generate, we can estimate how long it will take us to implement the site. These are things that business owners with no current internet exposure sometimes fail to grasp. And if you can't see your website adding 200,000 - 500,000 pounds per year in sales, you wont see it as an investment, you'll see it as an expense. And nobody wants a large up front bill for an extra "expense". What better way to prove the power of the internet to you than to develop your website via a joint venture approach ?
Q. We're pretty busy already, do you also warehouse and ship our products ?
A. No, it sounds like you are looking to add a distributor with online expertise. If this is the case, we have contacts who specialize in warehousing and shipping who might be interested in taking on your line - we will then work with them on the development of the site.
Q. We have a service we'd like to market via the web, is this something you do ?
A. Normally this type of web site doesn't lend itself too well to the joint venture approach. Look at bio builder - If you can send an email, you can probably build a suitable site for yourself by letting bio builder do all the work.
Q. I found this site so I know you can do the marketing, but I'd like to see some more functionality, you know something a bit more substantial... Do you have some samples sites I can look at ?
A. Yes, for starters, A database driven site and A site that sells Leg Wax.
